WebSphere and JMX
The MC4J Application supports connections to WebSphere servers version 5.0 and higher. It uses the WebSphere admin client and the SOAP connector to communicate with the server. Note: Connections to WebSphere for all 5.x versions must be done with MC4J running in the IBM 1.4 JVM. The Sun JVM will not work except with WebSphere 6.0.
Connecting MC4J to WebSphere
To connect to a WebSphere server, click the create connection button in the toolbar. In the wizard, select the WebSphere 5.x+ connection type and supply a name. The hostname and port number may also be customized. Select next, at which time you will be asked to select a local installation of WebSphere with the same version as the one you are connecting to. Click add if you have not already selected the server installation and browse to the WebSphere installation. Complete the wizard with defaults to connect to WebSphere.
Note: Previous versions of MC4J had other necessary steps to connect to WebSphere that are no longer necessary. Please provide feedback if this new setup does not work for you.
Requirements
The MC4J console has only been tested against WebSphere test environment version 5.0, 5.1 and 6.0.
